The Charge's Summer 2024 Activities!
The team was active this summer. From Midland Blooms planting (with Midland High), to Adopt-a-Street, to Riverdays, to the Dow Run-Walk, to the STEM center at the The Dow Championship (women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour), to outreach at the Grace A Dow Library, our team was there!
The Charge
We are The Charge, FRC Team 2619, a FIRST robotics team from Midland, Michigan, working "to create a world where science and technology are celebrated, where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes".
The Charge – The HH Dow High School Robotics Team – is a team of high school students and adult mentors who participate in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competitions.
The Charge is organized as a club within H.H. Dow High School and the Midland Public Schools. The primary focus of the robotics team is to design, fabricate, construct, program, and test a large-scale robot for regional, state, and international competitions. The team brings together skills in areas of business, communications, fund raising, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and programming to effectively compete in the FIRST Robotics Competitions. The team is an opportunity for the students to work with a wide range of mentors with industry experience to gain hands-on technical and teamwork skills in a high energy environment.
Sponsors of The Charge for the 2023-2024 competition season include Dow, John Deere, Michigan Department of Education, TC Energy, Michigan Baseball Foundation, Midland Area Community Foundation, Nexteer, Midland Public Schools, Midland Eye Care, DuPont, Cargill, Midland Firefighters Youth Foundation, Midland Area Youth Action Council, Vacations by Holly, and the DHS Robotics Boosters.
We also thank our previous sponsors and DHS Robotics Boosters and all who work with the students on our team!
